WVU Parkersburg has a vast amount of people that make this school run. The school is ran by the professors, administrators and the students. Many students of WVU at Parkersburg are involved as cooperative workers or student tutors.
A student that is currently a tutor at WVU Parkersburg in the Student Success Center is Joshua A. Bennett. He is studying computer programming. Josh started tutoring in the Success Center just last fall. Josh tutors students who need help with any of the basic math and computer science.
He said that he didn't even know about the tutor program offered here, until a previous relationship made him take notice of what WVU Parkersburg has to offer.
Josh's experience in being a tutor has actually made him take a vast interest in teaching. At one point he wants to go into education to preferably teach college mathematics.
Josh enjoys working at the success center, he works there about 20 hours per week. Josh is only one person that helps this school succeed with students. WVU Parkersburg is a school that is based on the students and then success. The Student Success Center helps make that happen.
Josh said he was very hesitant to sign up to be a tutor in the Student Success Center, but eventually got the courage to take it into consideration and now he has been with it for a year and came across something new that he wants to add to his career path.
For those students that would like to be part of the help, students may sign up in the basement room 0404 with the program coordinator Janice Mccue. The requirements is one to have an A in the course of instruction and a recommendation from the professor that teaches it. WVU Parkersburg wants to have the students succeed so step up and share the success.
