Proceeds will benefit local domestic violence shelters, along with the Special Olympics. “Most of the entries are for older model cars and trucks. This is the first year for the car/truck show. We have never been involved with the Special Olympics before, so we are excited. We are trying to get the community involved; it is for a good cause,’’ Meleah Hartman of the WVU Parkersburg CJO said.
WVU Parkersburg student Andrea Daniels said, “My brother happens to be a ribbon holder from the Special Olympics and my family has been touched by issues relating to domestic violence. Giving a place to victims of domestic violence and the disabled to feel safe and celebrated is very important and it costs money. I am touched that this events proceeds are going to help two issues that touch my heart very deeply. I've witnessed first hand the generous spirit of the Mid Ohio Valley and I can't wait to see the turnout for two great causes.’’
Winners of the “Best of Show Car’’ and “Best of Show Truck’’ will be awarded a trophy, and the first 50 will be awarded a dash plaque.
