The following poem was published in the 2004 copy of Gambit. Because of this publication, these words echo still in the halls of WVU Parkersburg; his voice is still heard.
Gambit literary magazine is a WVU Parkersburg publication that is an opportunity available to all students, and is also free. Using this opportunity to get a work published will clinch it in history, forever. Submissions are accepted from any member of the WVU Parkersburg community, including faculty and staff.

Gambit offers a place for students to share their work; for their voice to be heard. All students with any creative writing piece should not hesitate to take advantage of this free offer. Proof-reading is offered in the Student Success Center in room 0404. They have tutors available to any student who makes an appointment.
Submissions can include: creative non-fiction, fiction, poetry, plays, essays, black and white photography (the magazine is printed only in black and white) and pen and ink drawings is accepted. All submissions are due on Friday, Nov. 18, and must be brought to Dr. Patricia Gaston by 4 p.m. The mailing address of the author should be clearly visible on all submissions because the publication is printed in the spring. All authors may have their works mailed back to them with copies of the final product. The author retains all rights to all documents published, so he or she may re-publish it or sell it to another publication without approval from Gambit. Anyone that is interested in getting more information, should see Dr. Gaston in room 0102C.
